SUMMARY ITINERARY
A 5-day tour of the scenic Snowdonia region in North Wales
Our 5-day itinerary incorporates drives over the main scenic roads and passes of the region including the Llanberis Pass as well as driving the EVO triangle rated by EVO car magazine as the best driving road in Wales.
Our itinerary also includes visits to Conwy, Llandudno, Llangollen, Betwys-y-Coed, Beaumaris, Menai Bridge, Ffestiniog, Caernarfon, Harlech, Portmeirion, Dolgellau and Bala.
On this tour, we use two hotels; for the first two nights a 4* hotel overlooking Lake Vyrnwy in the middle of the countryside then, for the last three nights, a stylish 5* replica Loire Valley chateau overlooking the Menai Straights.
COSTS PER PERSON
A. 2 PEOPLE IN A CAR SHARING A HOTEL ROOM £ 1,250 per person

- 3-course dinners, ( 5 nights )
- Breakfast daily
- Comprehensive road book with daily itineraries and detailed route instructions
- Michelin map of Wales with the route highlighted
- Services of a Tour Director throughout the tour
NOT INCLUDED ARE THE FOLLOWING :
- Lunches, snacks, coffees, etc.
- Drinks with dinner including water coffee and tea
- Entry to places of interest eg. museums, gardens, etc.

DRAFT ITINERARY
Day 1 Sunday, 3rd October
Clients arrive, in the afternoon, at our hotel on Lake Vyrnwy.
Lake Vyrnwy is located 35 miles west of Shrewsbury, Shropshire, approximately an hour's drive


Dinner, tonight, is in the restaurant overlooking the lake

Day 2 Monday, 4th October
Lake Vyrnwy, local excursion ( 160 miles)
Morning Itinerary,
Lake Vyrnwy/Llangynog/Bala/Dinas-Mawddwy/Machynlleth/Aberystwyth
We leave our hotel and drive to Bala, then down the lake

We then drive to Machynlleth, our morning coffee stop

Our lunch stop is Aberystwyth


Afternoon Itinerary,
Aberystwyth/Tal-y-Bont/Ponterwyd/Llanidloes/Machynlleth/Cemmaes Road/Mallwyd/Lake Vyrnwy
Our afternoon coffee stop is Llandiloes.


We then return to our hotel on Lake Vyrnwy

Dinner tonight is in the hotel's restaurant.
Day 3 Tuesday, 5th October ( 90 miles)
Lake Vyrnwy to Menai Bridge
We say farewell to Lake Vyrnwy and our morning route takes us west via Dolgellau

We then continue up the coast to Harlech our morning coffee stop.
Here there is an option to visit the Castle.


Harlech Castle
We then continue north to Portmeirion, our lunch stop where we can enjoy exploring the village.




Afternoon Itinerary,
We then drive up to Caernarfon, our afternoon coffee stop, where there is an option to visit the castle.

We then continue north to our hotel for the next three nights by the Menai Bridge

Day 4 Wednesday, 6th October ( 105 miles)
Menai Bridge, local excursion to Snowdonia ( miles)
Morning Itinerary,
Menai Bridge/Betws-Y-Coed/ Evo Triangle/Betws-Y-Coed/Ffestiniog/Beddgelert
Our morning route takes us initially south-east to Betws-y-Coed.

We then drive east to Pentrefoleas where we drive the EVO triangle a scenic and challenging driving road used by EVO magazine on car tests.


We then return to Betws-y-Coed our morning coffee stop.
Here there is an option to take a train trip on the steam train to Ffestiniog.
We then drive down to Ffestiniog then through the Vale of Ffestiniog to our lunch stop, Beddgelert, Snowdonia's prettiest village.

The town is centred on a rustic bridge and there are several cafes and tea rooms.
Afternoon Itinerary
Beddgelert/Caernarfon/Llanberis Pass/Capel Curig/ Bethesda/Menai Bridge
After lunch, we drive north-west on the A4085 to Caernarfon then take the A4086 via the Llanberis Pass to Llanberis, our afternoon coffee stop.


In Llanberis, there is an option to take the railway up Mount Snowdon

After coffee, we head northeast onto the A4086 to Capel Curig.
At Capel Curig we turn onto the B4409 and head north-west back to our hotel at Menai Bridge

Day 5 Thursday, 7th October ( 75 miles)
Menai Bridge, local excursion to Conwy and Llandudno ( miles)
Morning Itinerary,
Menai Bridge/ Beaumaris/Llandudno/Conwy
Our morning coffee stop is Beaumaris an attractive town with Medieval, Victorian and Edwardian buildings and of course Beaumaris Castle.

We then drive around the Menai Straits and along the coast to Llandudno Wales' largest seaside resort.

Here we drive up the Great Orme a 207metre high promontory. There is also an opportunity to visit the Great Ormes Mines the world's largest bronze age copper mine.
We then drive to nearby Conwy where we have lunch on the marina before visiting the castle


Afternoon Itinerary
Conwy/Bodnant Gardens/Menai Bridge
In the afternoon we visit the nearby Bodnant Gardens.



We then return to our hotel by the Menai Bridge


Tonight, the last night of the tour, we enjoy dinner in the hotel
Day 6 Friday, 8th October
After breakfast, the tour ends and we bid our farewells
